Why improve your emotional intelligence?

  • Because you're a leader

People don't just lead in the workplace, they lead in the home, within their communities, and during times of need and adversity. To lead well, high emotional intelligence is required.

  • Because the triple bottom line counts

Emotionally intelligent leaders are better equipped to problem solve, show resilience and innovate. This combination fosters continuous improvement across all facets of the company - people, planet, and profit.

  • Because you want to lead productive teams

Leaders who demonstrate high emotional intelligence have a higher success rate at maintaining happy and committed employees.

About this module

If you think you're not a leader, think again! In the workplace, managers are often responsible for taking the lead, however leaders aren't always appointed in the same way that managers are. Leaders are people who take others under their wing, leaders are those who strive to have a positive influence on those around them and show them the right way, and leaders can be parents, partners, friends, students, and many others. Think about your life, when have you taken the lead?

Module One of Emotionally Intelligent Leadership is presented in a workplace context, providing invaluable insight into how you can improve your relationships with colleagues, management, clients and customers, regardless of the type of leader you are, or the environment you lead in.

The lessons you’ll learn within this 30-minute module will also have a beneficial impact on your personal life. Your close personal relationships, such as those with partners, parents, children and friends, and your relationships with other leaders such as coaches, mentors and instructors, will all be improved, as you apply the principles of Emotionally Intelligent leadership.

Emotionally Intelligent Leadership takes a very different approach to learning, in that it's highly animated and designed with a gothic look and feel. This sets the mood as you engage in the meaningful stories told to you by relatable characters, such as Jack Stevens, whose past performance in the workplace effects his confidence to lead.

Whilst the module doesn't include any tests or assessment tasks, as you journey through the 28 lessons you will engage in a series of quizzes. The quizzes will help you to learn and reflect upon new concepts, such as the Key Principles of Self Efficacy, and Cultural Emotional Competence.

Upon completion of Emotionally Intelligent Leadership Module 1, you will be awarded with a Certificate of Completion, which we encourage you to proudly share via your social media accounts and on your resume.

Relatable learning

Evidence demonstrates that anecdotal learning is one of learning’s strongest forms, and that's because anecdotal learning offers meaningful experiences to which the learner can relate. The success of Management Tree’s Emotionally Intelligent Leadership modules comes from their relatable stories which are told in an immersive and artistically creative manner. What this creates, is an appetite to learn along with an eagerness to participate.

Excellent course to awaken one's thoughts about their own and others' level of emotional intelligence, and how emotional intelligence affects your own and others' behavioural patterns in all situations of life, not just within the workplace. Very informative.

I recommend this course absolutely. I learnt new concepts that I wasn't familiar with, like self-efficacy and the principles of it, and how they tie in with emotional intelligence. The course has made me think about how I lead, and about some of the issues members of my team have faced, and how I might be able to better support them. Yep, this was worthwhile for me.

I enjoyed this course immensely. I pride myself on fairly solid emotional intelligence, but this course challenged what I thought I knew, and I really related to some of the characters and their stories. Loved the animated approach, like a good TV show, it hooked me in.
